The TFN currently operates two types of escort ships, AMM and Beam. The AMM ships are designed for long-range interception of incoming missiles, while the beam ships are designed for close-in and final fire solutions.
Destroyers
As a rule, the AMM destroyer escorts are armed with Tarterus AMM.

The Wickes-class jump destroyer escort utilizes the larger Hellfire AMM. This, along with the jump drive, reduces the number of AMM that may be fired. The Wickes-class has been phased out, and existing ships are being decommissioned or refit to the Nimitz-class.
Cruisers
As a rule, the AMM cruiser escorts are armed with the Hellfire AMM. The Hellfire is twice as large as the Tarterus, providing sensor capability in case the escort ship is neutralized.
