The Chevalier is currently the mainstay of the Terran battle groups, with eight ships in service. As the most formidable vessel in humanity's arsenal, these cruisers proved their worth during the Kaluga Campaign (2079-2081), during which they obliterated most of the Kalugan Navy, including the vast number of orbital weapon platforms (codename: Siege Perilous) defending the enemy homeworld, Kaluga-A II.

While able to provide limited point-defense in a formation, the Cairo's main purpose is providing jump capability to Terran battle groups. Its four ships were instrumental to the Kaluga Campaign and the attempted Mu Cassiopeiae clean-up operation. After the destruction of the SWC Galileo prompted the failure of said mission, the Cairos successfully extracted the rest of the Terran forces from the system.
