This window provides a search function for minerals you've discovered. It is accessed through the system map icon bar.
In the top left dropdown, select the mineral you're looking for. You can then specify a second and third mineral if you're looking for a body with a good combination of several minerals.
Note that the default is to search in the system that the system map currently displays, but you can select "All systems" from the dropdown list. That can simplify your work a lot.
