Thermal Sensors
Description
A passive sensor that detects thermal emissions from engines and populations. Being passive, an Thermal Sensor does not give away your position (unlike an Active Sensor).
An Thermal Sensor can detect emissions at a range of
Thermal Sensitivity * 1000km * Signature strength
A passive sensor contact cannot be fired upon. You need an Active Sensor contact for that.
Usage
Thremal Sensors are a passive sensor component for your ships that allow it to detect anything with a thermal signature, be it an enemy ship or an entire colony. Thermal sensors have limited use in a combat scenario, but their all-round ablity to detect almost anything sentient makes them an excellent addition to survey and scout vessels.
