Penetration Mechanics
Some original research has revealed that I was pretty wrong about some aspects of the penetration writeup. Gauss and Railgun do in fact still take a 2-height pyramid, and lasers have some downright wonky behavior at high damage values, penetrating for 4 or even 5 vertical increments consecutively. The same behavior is unlikely to occur anywhere else due to the lack of damage or, in the case of missiles, simple template definition. Lasers are definitely not as simple as a "3-step pyramid", though.
